Dentures are the traditional solution for multiple missing teeth, especially in situations where all the teeth on your upper or lower jaw are missing. Modern full and partial dentures are very different from the traditional false teeth, with lightweight, strong and comfortable dentures made from advanced materials. Park Lane Dental Specialists offer denture fitting, design and repair services to provide you with comfortable and attractive dentures.
We use full dentures to replace all the teeth in a single row. Typically we would recommend a full denture if you have lost all your teeth or if you have few remaining teeth but want a full-row replacement.
To provide you with dentures we begin by taking impressions and measurements of your mouth and gums to ensure a proper fit and even appearance. Then we will create your denture in our lab and check it in your mouth for fit and comfort. If your denture is satisfactory, you can begin wearing it immediately. Over time your denture may require minor adjustments as your mouth adjusts to having the denture in it.
A partial denture is used to provide a replacement for individual missing teeth or gaps left by a few missing teeth. Structurally a partial denture is similar to a full denture and is created in much the same way.
If you have been missing teeth or wearing bridges or dentures for a long time your alveolar ridge (the bone which holds your teeth) may have lost bone tissue. In these cases your gums may have shrunk and your dentures may not look or fit properly. We can rebuild your ridge by augmenting it with bone grafts so it will form a full, more secure and more natural looking foundation for your dentures.
